VigiaOT
VigiaOT license terms
Version 1.0 · updated 2026-10-20
These terms govern the use of the VigiaOT software (iScanner and Analytics) under a license key issued by Sergio Peixoto Unipessoal Lda (trading as CodeBox Technology), NIF PT514270055, R. Padre Francisco Marques N55 3Dt, 4700-120 Braga, Portugal — codebox@codebox.pt ("we"). "You" is the organisation the license is issued to. Installing the software or a license key means accepting these terms; a signed agreement or accepted proposal with different terms prevails over them.
1. The license
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the software for your organisation's internal purposes, on the one computer identified by the activation code in the license key, within the modules, number of devices and dates the key states. The license certificate we issue describes each key.
The software is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights not expressly granted.
2. Free version, trials and provisional keys
- Without a key, iScanner runs as a free version limited to 5 devices in the inventory, under these terms.
- A trial key is for evaluating the software, free of charge, until the date in the key. It may be used on your own networks for that purpose.
- A provisional key bridges the time between your order and payment; it ends on its date unless replaced by a permanent key.
3. Moving a license
A license may be moved to another computer of yours on request: we issue a key for the new computer, and you stop using the license on the old one. A license may not be passed to another organisation without our written consent.
4. Vulnerability data and updates
Analytics compares your inventory with public vulnerability sources and our curated data. Updates to that data are included until the "updates until" date in the key and can be renewed; the software keeps working after that date with the data it has.
Vulnerability information is advisory. It may be incomplete or change as manufacturers and authorities publish; decisions on your equipment remain yours.
5. Using the software on your networks
iScanner finds and identifies devices by querying them over the network. Its queries are read-only — it does not write to or reconfigure equipment — but any network activity in an industrial environment carries some risk.
You are responsible for being authorised to scan the networks you use it on, for choosing when and where to scan, and for following your site's safety and change-management procedures.
6. What you may not do
- Circumvent, alter or disable the license check, or use a key on a computer other than the one it was issued for.
- Resell, rent, sublicense or provide the software as a service to third parties.
- Reverse engineer the software, except to the extent the law expressly allows it.
7. Your data
The software runs on your computer and keeps its data there. We do not receive your inventories, scan results or reports. Personal data we receive when you request or buy a license is handled as described in our privacy notice (license.vigiaot.com/privacy).
8. Warranty
For paid licenses, we will make reasonable efforts to correct defects you report that prevent the software from working as documented. Apart from that, and from any warranty that mandatory law imposes, the software is provided as is. Free, trial and internal licenses carry no warranty.
9. Liability
Our total liability arising from the software or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for the license concerned in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of production, profit or data.
These limits do not apply to liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or to anything else for which the law does not allow liability to be limited.
10. End of the license
A license ends on the date in its key, if it has one. We may end a license if these terms are materially breached and the breach is not remedied within 30 days of our notice. When a license ends, you stop using the software under it; your own data remains yours.
11. Law and courts
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. The courts of Braga, Portugal, have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory rules on jurisdiction.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; the version in force when a key is issued applies to that key. The current version is published here with its number and date.
